Hello again, my friends! Where has the summer gone? Since my last bit
of musing here, I’ve been quite busy. I visited Lily Dale three times
and was a featured medium on Canadian Weekend, served spirit at several
Toronto churches, taught workshops on intuition and psychic development
in Toronto and in New York, was named the Canadian correspondent for Psychic News
(a Spiritualist newspaper published in England), argued election
politics – both Canadian (Harper vs. Dion) and American (Hillary vs.
the world) – seen two children off to college and university, and
valiantly tended rose bushes that, at times, seemed more temperamental
than a bunch of unhappy cats.
Whew! Sometimes, it’s not easy being human!

After my last psychic development class, one of my students joked that,
after working as a medium in Canada for 28 years, there was surely
nothing under the sun that truly amazed me.
“Not true,” I told her. In the first place, life itself is a miracle
and when you’re into the flow of the joy of living, you notice amazing
things all the time. I mean, finding out that Sears was having a 33
percent off sale on refrigerators the very day my refrigerator died –
while it doesn’t compare to, say, the miraculous parting of the Red
Seas – is worth celebrating!
But in terms of sheer wonder, one of the most astounding things I’ve
ever witnessed was in a séance led by English physical medium Stewart
Alexander. Not only was I able to see a hand made of ectoplasm grow
from Stewart’s chest – but it touched me.

Every medium likes to give evidence that’s so sharp, crisp and bang-on,
someone’s jaw drops in surprise and awe. “How did you know that?” is
something I love to hear from a client, because it means that spirit is
strong with me. It also means I’m building trust with my client, so any
message that comes through from spirit will be well received (and,
hopefully, appreciated).
Medium Sharon Klingler, of Avon, Ohio, calls this “The ‘wow’ factor.”
Think of John Edward’s TV show Crossing Over, where
it seemed like he constantly brought forth amazing evidence: deceased
relatives’ names, the automobiles they drove, and even hobbies they
enjoyed while on the Earth plane! (I’ve seen John live and, believe me,
there’s even more ‘wow’ when you’re nearby him.)
Whenever I get a “wow”, my spine tingles – even if that confirmation
comes days later. Here are a few “wow’s I received via email a few days
after a recent public mediumship event near Toronto.
